A GREENOCK man charged with assaulting his partner in the street after being released from custody on bail has had his sheriff court trial postponed.
John McElwee, 48, is accused of repeatedly seizing the woman, pulling her and pushing her against a shutter on Regent Street last September.
McElwee, of Cathcart Street, had been due to have his case heard this week but it had to be adjourned for a procedural reason.
He has maintained a plea of not guilty through lawyer Aidan Gallagher, with the trial now scheduled for for May 17.
