A GOUROCK band have landed a dream gig at Scotland's biggest music festival alongside Pulp, Kasabian, George Ezra and Sam Ryder.
Slix are no strangers to the limelight after supporting The View at the 02 Academy last year - and also sold out King Tut's in Glasgow in five days.
But they say they are 'thrilled' to now get the chance perform at TRNSMT later this year.
The band is made up of front man Robbie Peden, Alan Hunter, Niven Lowrie and Harvey Todd, and they are managed by Robbie's brother Scott.
He said: "We are absolutely over the moon.
"It's a testament to the hard work we've put in over the last 18 months.
"The lads first got together in 2019 and wer just playing local gigs in Gourock. Just three years later they are going to be mixing with some of the biggest names in the business.
"We're thrilled to bits, I was speechless when I got the call to see they wanted to book us."
Alan, 21, who plays bass guitar, joined the band in 2021.
He said: "It's an incredible feeling. We found out a couple of weeks ago but it's juts been announced officially. We just can't comprehend it.
"I used to go to the festival as a kid, every member of the band did, so to play there now is a dream."
Alan, who describes their sound as 'Indie jingle-jangle' says they are determined to grasp the opportunity.
He added: "It will be amazing being up there on stage and we will be sure to put on a cracking set."
The guitarist has a classical/jazz background but says he is inspired by all sorts of music.
He said: "Jazz has a special place for me but I listen to different genres of music as it's good to expand your knowledge.
"As a band we have only just started, they're are really no boundaries, we are going as far as we can."
He also cites Scott as key to their success.
Alan said: "Our manager has been fantastic and we've really grown as a band thanks to the doors he has opened for us."
Slix will play on the River Stage at TRNSMT on Friday July 7.
