A SEX offender school teacher filmed himself with a naked woman and sent videos of the encounter to his pupils, Greenock Sheriff Court has been told.
Michael Wallis, 49, also texted three boys — all aged under 16 — disgusting messages accompanying the seedy images in which he referred to the female in grossly derogatory terms.
The now former PE teacher called the woman 'dirty' in the messages and stated that she was a child's nanny.
His lawyer described the offences as 'bravado' and 'showing off' but Sheriff Michael Higgins ruled there was a significant sexual aspect to them.
Wallis sent the videos to a 14-year-old and two 15-year-olds in November last year 'at an address known to the prosecutor within the jurisdiction of Greenock Sheriff Court'. We are unable to disclose it due to legal restrictions.
Fiscal depute Maria Murdoch told the court: "The accused sent a 20-second video of a naked female lying on her back, apparently unconscious on a bed.
"This started conversations and rumours within the school."
A description given of a second video, along with the words Wallis spoke during its filming, are too explicit to publish, however, he was captured having sex with the woman.
He also sent both videos to a colleague last October, the court was told.
Wallis sat in the dock shaking his head throughout the narration of the facts of the case.
He had added a number of pupils as 'friends' on his Facebook account prior to committing the offences and his communications were 'initially appropriate' regarding a charity walk and making use of school gym equipment, the court heard.
But after sending the explicit videos and messages, he instructed pupils to delete them.
Prosecutor Ms Murdoch said: "Pupils received a message from the accused asking that they block him from Facebook as he was concerned that the education service and the police were aware of videos he'd sent."
The fiscal depute added: "The accused was arrested on December 6 last year.
"He was cautioned and charged and replied, 'I'm mortified, I'm so sorry'.
"I submit that there is a significant sexual nature to these charges."
Wallis' lawyer told the court: "This was not done for sexual gratification.
"The character of the offences come across as bravado and showing off.
"He was intoxicated and there is a potential spiking situation which will form part of mitigation when the case next calls."
The solicitor added: "The charges before the court are breaches of the Communications Act.
"There was no attempt to obtain sexual gratification for himself in sending these videos."
Sheriff Michael Higgins however ruled that there was a significant sexual element to the offences and placed Wallis on the Sex Offenders Register, with the length of his inclusion to be determined at an upcoming sentencing hearing.
The sheriff deferred sentence for a background report and electronic tagging order to be prepared.
He ordered that Wallis have no contact with any child under the age of 16 other than that which is inadvertent or unavoidable during the course of daily life.
Wallis, whose address was not given in court, is due back in court on the matters on March 29.
