A POPULAR Greenock town centre pub/restaurant has been put on the market for more than £100,000.

The leasehold for Tokyo Joe's on Westburn Street, a long established venue in the heart of the town, is up for grabs.

The premises recently underwent a full makeover.

The restaurant has capacity to accommodate 100 customers and has been extensively refurbished, with a variety of booth seating, tables and chairs.

At the rear of the eaterie is a large enclosed beer garden and agents marketing the premises say there is scope to develop the business further.

The current leaseholder, who is now said to be looking to sell due to other business interests in Ayrshire, said: “There is still room for increased sales, particularly at weekends and by further development of the large beer garden."

The venue is currently run by an experienced manager who has been with the business for over five years, and oversees an experienced front of house team who have all been in situ for over four years.

Alongside this, the business also has a full complement of kitchen staff.

The business is being marketed by Christie & Co. in Glasgow.

Alistair Watt, business agent who is handling the sale, said: "On the market for £105,000, this is a very rare opportunity to acquire the leasehold interest in a well-established, popular restaurant in the centre of Greenock.

"The business has the advantage of having a long-term fixed utility contract at low rates for both gas and electricity, ensuring no increase over the next five years.

"We look forward to speaking with interested parties.”
