A GREENOCK man has been charged with alleged sexual offences spanning a timeframe of 22 years.
Robert Leith, 64, is accused of having possession of indecent images of children and of extreme pornography 'depicting in an explicit and realistic way' bestiality.
Leith, who has a west end address on court papers, is also charged with taking or permitting to be taken, or making, indecent photographs or pseudo-photographs of children.
He is said to have committed the alleged indecent child images offences between February 1999 and July 2021.
Leith is also accused of having possession of bestiality images between March 2011 and July 2021.
He offered a plea of guilty to this allegation only, and not guilty to the child images charges, at a procedural calling of the case but this was rejected by the Crown.
The case is due to call again on April 18, ahead of a sheriff and jury trial scheduled to begin on June 19.
