A YOUNG Greenock golfer has teed up a three-year sports sponsorship to help her pursue her professional ambition.
Amateur player Jayla Kepler has landed a deal with xburo, a leading mechanical and electrical engineering consultancy, to help cover the costs she faces as she makes her way in the sport.
The 13-year-old champion, who took home numerous titles last season, caught the eye of the firm, who praised her 'winning mentality'.
The Clydeview Academy pupil, who is currently preparing for the upcoming season, says she is 'delighted' to have their backing.
Jayla told the Tele: "This will make such a difference to me going forward.
"The sponsorship will help cover costs and means I can access more opportunities.
"I'm so grateful to the company, having this lets me focus on the sport without having any worries about finances."
The youngster, who is supported by proud parents Wendy and Colin, will be taking part in multiple events this season, including the Barrie Douglas Scottish Junior Masters.
Colin said: "She has worked really hard and is going from strength to strength.
"Events can get expensive - the cost of entering competitions, travelling and accommodation can escalate, so we're very grateful to xburo for stepping in."
The firm, who have offices in Glasgow, Edinburgh and London, regularly show their support for charities and young sports stars.
Director Michael Gribben added: "xburo is pleased to offer Jayla a sports sponsorship and further strengthen its links to up-and-coming Scottish golfers.
"Our intention is that by supporting Jayla’s ambitions, she can focus on her game and the strengths she has in competitive golf, to achieve her full potential.
"Having met with Jayla, it is obvious she has a winning mentality which coincides with xburo’s drive for success.
"With competition in women’s golf strengthening year-upon-year and more female professional golfers coming through, we want to support them in their aspirations.
"We will continue to work hard to do our part to assist talented golfers like Jayla on their journey."
