POLICE are appealing for information after a 15-year-old boy was knocked down by a car in Greenock.
Officers sealed off a section of the A78 Inverkip Street yesterday following a road accident involving a car and the teenager near to Greenock West train station at around 5.30pm.
Emergency services attended and the child was taken to the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow.
The male driver of the car was uninjured in the incident and the road remained closed for several hours.
Sergeant Adnan Alam of Glasgow Road Policing said: “I am appealing for anyone with information regarding this incident to contact us.
"I would ask any motorists particularly with dash cams who were in and around that area to check the footage as it may have captured images that could assist in our investigation."
Anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident number 2871 of Feburary 24 2023.
