WORK is progressing on the major project to improve access at Port Glasgow Railway Station.
The old taxi office adjacent to the station entrance has now been demolished.
This clears the way for a new ramped access at the main Princes Street entrance, with the clearance work carried out overnight when no trains were running.
Network Rail has thanked those living nearby for their patience and understanding.
Their team have also cleared overgrown vegetation above the canopy on the Gourock-bound platform and are now ready to begin the next phase of the £5m improvement scheme.
The centrepiece of it is a new footbridge and lifts, with preparatory work under way for the new structure.
