A GREENOCK teenage engineering apprentice is celebrating after scooping a national award.
Harley Higgins, 18, a West College Scotland student, has been named 'Foundation Apprentice of the Year'.
Former Clydeview Academy pupil Harley now works for one of the country's biggest engineering firms, Aggreko, having taken the option of going to college while also still at school.
On nominating Harley for the award his lecturers praised his hard work and his ability to support others in the class.
As part of a work placement while studying for a foundation apprenticeship Harley went to Aggreko in Dumbarton and they were so impressed they have since taken him on in multi-skilled engineering.
Minister for Youth Employment and Training Jamie Hepburn congratulated Harley and all the other winners honoured at the Scottish Apprenticeship Awards.
