THE council is to spend £1.2m resurfacing almost 20 Inverclyde roads.
The list was drawn up based on how important each road is and through analysis of results from the Scottish Road Maintenance Condition Survey, local knowledge of defective parts of carriageway, complaints, accident statistics, liability claims and public, councillor and other requests.
Work will take place in the 12 months from the start of April.
The roads which will be upgraded in Greenock are: Auchenfoil Road, Gibshill Road/Smillie Street, Newark Street, Gleninver Road, South Street, Tobago Street, Ratho Street, Weir Street, Wellington Street and Robertson Street.
In Gourock repairs will be carried out at Cloch Road and Golf Road.
Work will be carried out at Innellan Road and Toward Road in Wemyss Bay and on Kilmacolm Road in Port Glasgow as well as William Street roundabout.
