A POPULAR Scottish actor is bringing the magic of the musicals to Greenock in a unique new show.

Keith Jack, star of the BBC One show 'Any Dream Will Do', will be at the Beacon on May 3 to perform in Dreamcoat Stars.

The spectacular showcase sees a selection of stars who have appeared in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat over the years take to the stage to perform an array of West End and Broadway hits.

Keith first appeared in Joseph as the narrator and took over the lead role after a stint in Only the Brave.

He has also appeared in Sincerely Mr Toad and in HMS Pinafore.

The star hasn't performed in Greenock for several years but says he has great memories of the Beacon and Inverclyde audiences.

Keith, 35, said: "I recall that the views are amazing.

"The Inverclyde crowds are always good, they really embrace the performance.

"Greenock is one of the first Scottish dates as well so I'm really looking forward to it.

"It's going to be great coming back to Scotland."

Keith will be joined by Mike Holoway, Jonathan Dudley, Glenn Carter and Chris Barton in the colourful show which includes renditions of songs from musicals including Joseph, Jesus Christ Superstar, Phantom of the Opera, Mamma Mia, We Will Rock You, Les Misérables and Moulin Rouge.

Alongside wowing audiences with his showstopping vocals, the star has also helped the show come to life as producer alongside Matt Brinkler.

Keith added: "I always knew that I would love to produce something.

"It's been great fun developing the concept and bringing all these numbers together for the show.

"It's gone down really well and it's been amazing to wear my producer hat.

"I would love to get involved in more of this type of work in the future."

Keith says Dreamcoat Stars will appeal to whole families as it's a show 'packed with colourful and fun' - but promises it will also tug on the heartstrings.

He added: "I heard a review from someone who said they had never cried, laughed, sang and clapped along as much.

"We need some fun in our lives after what everyone has been through over the last few years."
