THE Tele got a sneak preview of the town's new Bonmarche store before it opened to shoppers today.
The bright new store has a range of colourful dresses, tops and trousers and looks sure to be a hit with local ladies.
Staff said they were delighted to be back in West Blackhall Street following the closure of the store three years ago.
Customers were also delighted and several eager shoppers appeared at the door trying to get in before it opened at 10am.
Manager Elaine McNair said: "It's quite exciting to open a new store. People have been chapping the door all week, asking when we are opening.
"I think we have always been so popular because we offer good quality and fashionable clothing at a decent price."
"It's a good time to open a new store coming up for the summer season.
"I think it's good for the town as well."
The first 30 customers who bought an item of clothing were given goodie bags to celebrate.
Sharon Brown regional manager, said: "We are glad to be back in Greenock and we look forward to welcoming back new and existing customers and to invite them to see our spring and summer collection."
