Inverclyde Council has confirmed that a portion of the road will be shut, with the closure starting from its junction with Dunrod Road and running up to the boundary between the Inverclyde and North Ayrshire council areas.
Filming for the eighth season of the popular programme has been taking place locally since the end of last month, with segments already taped at Old Largs Road and at Bay Street in Port Glasgow.
Previous series of the show have included scenes shot all across Inverclyde.
The new season will be the first without show star Douglas Henshall, who has stepped away from his role as lead character DI Jimmy Perez.
Ashley Jensen, who has starred in After Life and Mayflies, is taking on the lead detective role in the new series.
