THUNDERSTORMS are expected in Inverclyde tonight after the Met Office issued a yellow weather warning.
The alert is in place from 5pm today until 11pm tonight.
The weather forecaster has advised that the weather may lead to heavy showers, with a chance of thunderstorms, which may lead to localised disruption.
The alert covers much of Scotland's south east, including Inverclyde.
Potential impacts highlighted in the warning also include the possibility of damage to buildings from lightning strikes, the affects the weather will have on driving conditions and the likelihood of delays to train services.

Met Office yellow weather warning for Inverclyde
The Met Office has told locals to be aware of the following while the warning is active:
- Some flooding of a few homes and businesses likely, leading to some damage to buildings or structures
- Probably some damage to a few buildings and structures from lightning strikes
- There is a good chance driving conditions will be affected by spray, standing water and/or hail, leading to longer journey times by car and bus
- Delays to train services are possible
- Some short term loss of power and other services is likely
