INVERCLYDE Council has issued a reminder to local drivers ahead of a parking fine hike next month.
Motorists are being warned that the cost of fixed Penalty Charge Notices (PCNs) issued by the local authority will increase from £60 to £80 on June 5.
This charge will be cut in half if the payment is received within 14 days of notice.
The hike comes after new figures revealed that more than 4,000 fines for parking were issued in Inverclyde last year, with over a quarter going unpaid.
