MEMBERS at Hillend Bowling Club got the bowl rolling on the 2023 season with a successful opening day.
The club's supporters gathered on the greens to see in the new season and spend an enjoyable afternoon together.
Club president John Steele's granddaughter Olivia threw the first bowl and jack of the season before members played a wapenshaw to get their first go on the greens.

Club secretary Pat Woods told the Tele it had been a fantastic occasion.
He said: "We were delighted to get good weather for opening day, we've always been really lucky that way."
"It was a good day and it was nice to see everyone along at the club.
"The league is just about to get under way which is good.
"We're competing in the triples and will also be taking part in the Greenock and District competitions and the Renfrewshire ones too.
"We're really looking forward to the new season."
