TO celebrate Eurovision, we asked the new OpenAI artificial intelligence programme to compose us a song - about Greenock.
The result - which only took a few minutes of 'bot time to compose - can be seen below.
We leave it to our readers to decide if this moving and heartfelt work is right up there with Abba's Waterloo ... or right down there with Jemini's legendary Cry Baby (a damning nul points in 2003).
Here then, are the lyrics for A Song for Greenock:
(Verse 1)
In a land of pride and glory, where the Clyde meets the sea,
There's a town called Greenock, where dreams are set free.
With a spirit so resilient, we rise above it all,
Greenock's the heartbeat, standing proud and tall.
(Chorus)
Oh, Greenock, our shining star,
We'll sing your praises near and far.
Through joy and sorrow, we'll never part,
In Greenock, love fills every heart.
(Verse 2)
From the shipyards of old, where legends were born,
To the hills and the valleys, where dreams are adorned.
In your streets, we find unity, a melody of grace,
Greenock, a tapestry of cultures we embrace.
(Chorus)
Oh, Greenock, our shining star,
We'll sing your praises near and far.
Through joy and sorrow, we'll never part,
In Greenock, love fills every heart.
(Bridge)
Together we're a symphony, our voices intertwined,
From the Beacon to Lyle Hill, our spirits unconfined.
In every corner of your soul, a story to be told,
Greenock, you're forever etched in gold.
(Chorus)
Oh, Greenock, our shining star,
We'll sing your praises near and far.
Through joy and sorrow, we'll never part,
In Greenock, love fills every heart.
(Outro)
So let the world hear our anthem, a song of unity,
Greenock, forever cherished, in perfect harmony.
In Eurovision's stage, we'll make our voices soar,
Greenock's spirit shining bright forevermore.
