PLANS to build a harbourside office with welfare facilities at Greenock's Victoria Harbour have been approved by Inverclyde Council.
A programme of works can now take place to upgrade Clyde Marine Ltd's Greenock offices after local authority planners accepted an application submitted by project architects Nicholson McShane.
The firm can now replace its current buildings with modern high specification units, which are designed to ensure better accessibility and improved energy efficiency.
Other improvements include the addition of new welfare, workshop and storage spaces.

The company's current facilities comprise of three Portakabins, two of which are linked by a glazed walkway.
Founded in 1913, Clyde Marine provides tug services, charter cruise vessels and vital harbour services all over the west coast of Scotland from its Greenock base.
It is hoped that the development will safeguard these activities and maintain the visibility of Greenock's maritime industry in the medium to long term.
