MENTAL Health Week is back in Inverclyde and launched today with a big dip in the Clyde.
Your Voice has teamed up with partners and other organisations to put on activities across the district.
To start it all off they were joined by Happy and Wild open water coach Lisa Boonsanong for a swim at Lunderston Bay.
Marianne McKay, a clerical assistant from Greenock who took to the water, said: "I tried it last week and I am coming back again. It is invigorating going out in the water.
"It makes you feel so much better."
The cold water swimming sessions were a huge hit last year and look set to take place again this year.
Gaynor Lochhead, of Your Voice, said: "It is great to have the open water swimming sessions to help launch Mental Health Week.
"We are hoping to get more sessions up and running again this year.
"I started it last year and it changed my life. It is exhilarating.
"I suffer from sciatica, joint paint and I struggle to sleep. But after a session in the cold water, I go out like a light and the pain disappears.
Coach Lisa said: "I have people who come along and they are petrified, then they can't wait to get in and get going again."
