PUPILS and teachers at a Gourock secondary school were spot on as they continued their campaign promoting children's rights.
St Columba's High was awarded a gold level Rights Respecting School Award in 2020.
Pupils and teachers are now building on their good work to achieve their re-accreditation with UNICEF.
Young people in first, second and third year focused on their rights and responsibilities throughout a special week of activities during their social subject classes, highlighting different rights and the importance of them.
Kirsty McKay, who teaches social subjects, said: "We had a specific focus on all the articles to enhance pupils' understanding and to allow them to ensure their rights are met throughout their lives.
"A group of pupils organised a penalty shoot out competition, to show the school allows children their right to play under Article 31.
"Pupils were also given the choice of which charity they wanted to donate to, and we decided on the Scottish Catholic International Aid Fund, after our Lenten journey with SCIAF and raised £49."
Kirsty said pupils really enjoyed learning about the rights enshrined in the
UNICEF articles and had a great time during the penalty shoot out.
One of the pupils, Joel Brown, who plays for Morton, pitted his skills against goalies teachers Graham Currie and Gordon Burke.
First, second and third years took part in the project.
Kirsty said: "Pupils get lessons in their rights and responsibilities in primary school and this aims to improve their understanding.
"We also compare our country with other countries and I think it makes them realise that they have a lot of their rights here, in terms of health and education."
