GIRL Guides bosses can now move ahead with a £36k project to install children's play equipment at their Kilmacolm camp.
Planning permission has been granted for proposals to build a removable children's playframe, chute and swingset at the South Newton Girlguiding Renfrewshire Camp and Training centre near Woodhead Road.
Application documents state that the new equipment will replace an existing trail and adventure play activity which is old and starting to rot, as well as a previous climbing frame and swing set which was demolished in 2011.
The new facilities will be used during children's day visits, evening visits or overnight and weekend camps and holidays.
It will be available free of charge to any group booked in at the site.
The land the new equipment will be installed on is part of an activity field the organisation uses for games, archery, camping and campfires, as well as adult training courses in walking, archery and first aid.
