A GREENOCK businessman who travelled down to Windsor for the King's Coronation concert said the recently-installed monarch appeared to like his t-shirt.
John Burleigh, who was a Liberal Democrat candidate in the 2022 Inverclyde Council election, made his way down to London with his wife Heather before the huge live music event.
The couple secured tickets for the extravaganza thanks to Heather being successful in the ballot.
Mr Burleigh was distributing leaflets for All Souls Church when the King set off on a walkabout, greeting people who had gathered for the concert.
The former Liberal Democrat candidate said when Charles III noticed his 'God Save the King' t-shirt, he said 'jolly good'.
Mr Burleigh also met television presenter Dan Walker before the concert and said he was a 'very funny guy'.
John said there were quite a few people in kilts which made for an informal clan gathering.
The Inverclyde businessman said seeing the King before the concert was 'a lovely surprise' and said the concert itself was 'just amazing'.
She added: "The light displays in the sky synchronised to music were really moving.
"Lionel Richie was a highlight and the party was in full swing when he was on.
"It was such a beautiful backdrop and a fantastic experience."
