A GREENOCK police assaults accused spat on an officer and claimed he had Covid before shouting racial and sectarian abuse, it is alleged.
Michael Beaton, 40, is facing a total of five charges, including uttering threatening remarks towards PCs.
Prosecutors say he resisted, obstructed or hindered four officers and struggled violently with them.
He is further accused of spitting on the leg of a male officer and kicking another.
Beaton is said to have committed the alleged offences at his home on Aberfoyle Road on May 15.
He is said to have shouted, swore, stated he had Covid-19 and uttered racial and sectarian remarks at his home and within a police vehicle.
Beaton appeared from custody at the sheriff court for a petition hearing in private and made no plea through lawyer Amy Spencer.
Matters have been continued for further examination with Beaton allowed bail.
A date for the next calling of the case is to be confirmed.
