POLICE caught a banned driver in Port Glasgow after he moved a car a just few yards from his driveway to the road.
Andrew McClements, 50, was shifting the vehicle to allow a relative to collect it later, Greenock Sheriff Court was told.
Officers pulled up behind the car on Auchenbothie Road after receiving a report that he had 'clipped' another vehicle.

Checks revealed tat McClements was disqualified from holding or obtaining a licence until he had passed the full driving test.
Defence lawyer Aidan Gallagher told Sheriff Shirley McKenna that the 18-month disqualification period has lapsed, and that his did not realise he had to resit the test.
Sheriff McKenna told McClements: “You cannot drive out of a driveway. You are not allowed to drive until you pass the test.”
The sheriff imposed six penalty points and fined him £190.
