FIREFIGHTERS were called out to a large shrub blaze in Greenock last night.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) said one appliance attended Burns Square in the Larkfield area of the town late on Thursday evening.
A photo shared in the Greenock Telegraph Camera Club group on Facebook showed firefighters dealing with the incident as smoke passed over the nearby scene.
A spokesperson for the SFRS said: "We were alerted at 9.41pm on Thursday May 25 to reports of a fire in the open in Greenock.
"Operations control mobilised one appliance to the town's Burns Square, where firefighters were met by a large area of gorse on fire.
"Crews extinguished the fire and worked to make the area safe before leaving the scene."
