A DRIVER was issued with a fixed penalty notice following a two-car crash at an accident blackspot in Inverkip this morning.
Police and ambulance crews were called out to the Inverkip junction on the A78, near Kip Marina, shortly before 10am on Friday.
The Nissan and Suzuki vehicles involved were badly damaged after the incident and police confirmed one of the drivers was taken to hospital as a precaution.
A Police Scotland Spokesperson said: "Around 9.45am on Friday May 26, we were called to a report of a two-vehicle crash on the A78, Inverkip.
"Emergency services attended and one driver was issued with a fixed penalty notice."
A similar collision happened in the same area last week, with two vehicles involved in a crash at around 8.35am on May 16.
