TRUNK road maintenance firm Amey are to carry out six weeks of footway resurfacing and road safety improvements on the A78 at Ardgowan Road in Wemyss Bay.
The work will start on Monday June 5, running until July 14, between the hours of 9:30am and 4pm each day.
They say the £106,000 project will benefit around 11,800 vehicles using the route each day, by widening and improving the condition of the footpath, reducing the need for more extensive maintenance in the future.
Road safety upgrades will include an improved junction for pedestrians with new crossing points and a refuge island to access the bus stop on the A78 southbound.
The work will be carried out using daytime temporary traffic lights installed at this location.
Amey said: "We thank road users for their patience while these upgrades take place. This is the first phase of trunk road improvements at this junction, with resurfacing also due to take place towards the latter end of this programme of works."
