INVERCLYDE'S MP is urging community groups to take advantage of a new fund which enables them to take over public assets which may be at risk.
The UK Government have launched the next part of the Levelling Up programme through the Community Ownership Fund.
Voluntary and community organisations can apply for funding to take ownership of assets under threat.
Mr Cowan said: “This is a £150m fund over four years to support community groups across the UK to take ownership of assets which are at risk of being lost to the community.
"The fund will see most awards being provided for up to £250,000 of capital funding, but some bids can be up to £1m.
“Having being successful with the bid for Levelling Up funding to regenerate parts of Inverclyde and create a culture quarter, I believe it’s important we build on this previous success and ensure further funding comes into Inverclyde.
“I would encourage voluntary and community organisation to consider applying to the fund and my office would be happy to assist with any queries.”
