A REGIONAL MSP has hailed the team at Wemyss Bay Railway Station after it was voted as the UK's favourite.
Labour's Katy Clark says its new status as World Cup of Stations champion for 2023 is well deserved recognition for everyone who keeps it on track.
She said: “I’m thrilled the public has recognised how distinctive Wemyss Bay station is, much loved by local residents and tourists alike.
“Since its 1903 rebuild, it has stood out for its spectacular architecture, charming floral displays and picturesque views. The work of groups like Friends of Wemyss Bay Station, along with the staff and local community, have ensured it continues to appeal to generation after generation.
“With its wide walkways, it’s also easy for crowds to navigate, and serves a reminder of how important it is to invest in rail infrastructure, particularly as we seek to encourage more people to travel sustainably by train. I congratulate all those who make the station so special.”
