A FUN-loving fundraiser was literally 'full of beans' as she dunked herself in a Heinz-filled POOL for charity.
Alyssa McLellan celebrated her eighth birthday by pouring several tins of baked beans into her paddling pool and having a splashing time.
The Greenock schoolgirl also raised more than £650 for the Young Lives vs Cancer cause.
Alyssa McLellan came up with the quirky idea when her mum Amanda was looking for inspiration.
And Amanda, 32, community manager of the James Watt pub, reckoned it was a great way to raise awareness and cash for the charity.
She said: "Alyssa received a video message from a representative from the charity, wishing her good luck and she was over the moon about that.
"She was told that what she had raised would pay for a family to stay 17 nights in one of the charity's homes, near to the hospital where their child was being treated.
"I thought that was incredible."
"I can't explain how proud I am of Alyssa."
Alyssa lives with Amanda, dad Billy and little brother Evan, five, in Sir Michael Street in Greenock.
But she completed her messy challenge in her great-gran Jean Ford's garden.
The youngster donned a swimsuit and a Young Lives vs Cancer charity t-shirt and was in the bean pool for about half an hour before being carried off to the shower.
Amanda said: "She loved it. She dived right in - she wasn't very sure about getting them on her hair but then she just went for it.
"She sat for about half an hour in the beans."
The Ardgowan Primary school pupil also had a ball with all her friends the day before and enjoyed a trip to McDonald's, as well as a well earned family dinner at The Exchange, including a delicious mocktail.
