THREE suspects are to stand trial charged with trying to kill a man at a flat in the east end of Greenock.
Patrick Docherty, 32, Samuel Bonnar, 34, and Thomas Lewis, 27, allegedly attacked the man at a flat in Belville Avenue, Greenock on June 13 in 2022.
It is claimed by the Crown that the male was repeatedly hit on the head with a metal pole.
He is also said to have been struck with a knife.
The attempted murder charge states this was to his severe injury, permanent disfigurement and impairment as well as to the danger of his life.
Docherty, Bonnar and Lewis are said to have been on bail at the time.
Lawyers for the trio pleaded not guilty on their behalf during a hearing at the High Court in Glasgow today.
Lord Doherty set a trial to begin in April 2024.
