A CAR was left crumpled following an early morning crash in Port Glasgow.
Police Scotland today confirmed a woman was taken to hospital as a precaution after Sunday's single-vehicle incident on the westbound carriageway of the A8, between the Newark roundabout and the junction with Bay Street.
Pictures showed extensive damage to the front of the car and a damaged lamppost on the pavement nearby.
A police spokesperson said: “Around 8.40am on Sunday June 11 we were called to a report of a one-vehicle crash on the A8 in Port Glasgow.
“Emergency services attended and a woman was taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley to be checked over.”
