AT last, we are seeing long summer days and warm temperatures many of us have been hoping for. The recent extended spell of fine weather has inspired me to look out some sunny pictures taken around Inverclyde in summers gone by.
Pic1: Record temperatures in the summer of 2010 brought sun worshippers out to the parks and beaches of Inverclyde.
Pic2: Players from American football club, Inverclyde Raiders took time out to enjoy the sun during training at Battery Park back in 2004.
Pic3: I ventured out with camera in hand to look for some sunny pics at Greenock's Battery. Although the park is a popular spot, I had never seen it so busy with picnickers and sunbathers in the summer of 2003.
Pic4: Flat-calm waters and sunshine saw bathers take the the waters of the Clyde to cool off. I got my feet wet for this shot of young rowers enjoying the sun in 1994.
Pic5: The Leydic family got their skates on for this sunshine picture that appeared in the Telegraph in 1998. Their roller session was helped along with some ice cream supplied by Esplanade Cafe.
The team there often supply the ultimate sunshine prop for warm weather pictures!
