CLEARANCE work has been taking place on a plot of land in Greenock earmarked for development as a £1.5m Greggs drive-through.
Fencing has been erected around a site on the corner of Cartsburn Street and Rue End Street, which is set to be transformed into a branch of the national bakery chain.
Applicants Dalglen Ltd, an investment vehicle owned by billionaire brothers Sandy and James Easdale, had plans for a drive-through coffee shop on the site approved in October 2021.
Workmen have now begun to clear the site, which was purchased from Scottish Enterprise in 2018.
Councillors recently granted permission for work to stop up the nearby Arthur Street to support the development.
It is estimated that the new building will create around 30 jobs in the area.
