A £67 million superyacht owned by a multi-millionaire businessman and philanthropist is the latest impressive vessel to grace Greenock's waters.

The 63m-long Scout arrived at James Watt Dock on Sunday morning having spent time berthed in Belfast.

The luxurious yacht, built by Dutch shipyard Hakvoort, has space for 10 guests and more than a dozen crew and belongs to James Berwind.

Son of the late Charles Graham Berwind, the American is the heir to the Berwind Corporation fortune and has a net worth of around half-a-billion dollars.

Berwind is a keen dog lover and named the stunning yacht currently docked in Inverclyde after one of his beloved pet pooches.

The yacht boasts a range of impressive amenities, including a gym, cinema room, and a large sun deck with a jacuzzi, while there is also a custom-made sculpture of Scout on board.

Scout follows the $100m Rocinante, owned by billionaire American businessman Gabe Newell, that was berthed at the local marina last month, alongside fellow superyachts Game Changer and Dapple.

In June, the manager of James Watt Dock Marina told the Telegraph it will welcome a record number of superyachts this summer, with bookings already full until the beginning of August.
