WELL-WISHERS have offered their online support to a musician who suffered a heart attack during a live gig in Greenock.
Bass player Mark Thomson took unwell as his band The Square Go's performed at The Horseshoe Bar in Kilblain Street on Saturday.
In a social media update after the weekend incident, the venue confirmed the guitarist was taken to the Golden Jubilee Hospital in Clydebank where he 'had a stent fitted'.
The post read: "He is recovering and doing well.
"I'm sure you'll all appreciate how scary a situation it was for Mark, his family and band members and join us in wishing him a very speedy recovery.
"A big thanks to everyone for their support and understanding last night and to everyone who stayed on. It didn't go unnoticed."
The North Lanarkshire group will return to the Greenock bar 'when all is well and Mark has a clean bill of health', according to the Facebook page.
Commenting in response, the guitarist said: "Thanks for the kind words and well wishes everyone, it means a lot to myself and the band.
"I knew after two songs in something wasn't quite right, managed to get through another 10 songs but the chest pains were too strong...so went outside for some fresh air.
"Thanks to everyone who helped me and phoned an ambulance which came in no time and confirmed I had taken a heart attack.
"Massive thanks again to the NHS staff and punters for all the help, fantastic.
"Hopefully see you all soon, thank you!"
