CANNABIS with an estimated street value of £150,000 has been seized druring a swoop on a car in Port Glasgow, police have said this morning.
Two men aged 36 and 32 were arrested during what has been described as an intelligence-led operation at Markinch Road.
Police pounced on the vehicle at around 6.40pm last night.
Detective Superintendent Craig Willison said: “This was a significant drugs recovery that has taken £150,000 worth of drugs out of our communities.
“Drugs cause misery in our communities and we are committed to disrupting their supply.
“This operation underlines our commitment to the Serious Organised Crime Taskforce and the country’s Serious Organised Crime Strategy.
“Anyone with information or concerns about drugs should contact us on 101, or make a call anonymously to the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
Both arrested men are due to appear at Greenock Sheriff Court later today.
