A SCULPTOR has opened up an art swap shop in the Oak Mall with a unique collection inspired by what she could find while shopping in the town.
Oak Ornaments is a swap and save store run by artist Amy Grogan, supported by Inverclyde Culture Collective.
Glasgow School of Art graduate Amy has let her imagination run wild as she brings the shelves of a former shoe shop alive with a treasure trove of her work.
Visitors can take an item home with them in exchange for a story, another object or even a service offered.
So far she has had groups of children coming in with fantastic tales to tell who have then left with a unique piece of art of their own.
Inside the former Clarks shop there are sculptures of onions, pasties and shoes to be found.
Artist Amy, 28, said: "This is such an exciting project. I would ask everyone to come in and see it for themselves.
"I have groups coming in and we have had some lovely stories. We even have some of our exchanges on display as well. Everything has a price or value. Some of the artwork would be exchanged for two stories!
"I love working in Inverclyde, there is a really great community here."
The shop is part of a residency 'exploring and re-imagining' the high street in Greenock.
As part of the residency Amy has been speaking to various shop owners, customers, security staff and other people who currently use the shopping centre.
Some of these conversations have found their way into the different artworks available to be purchased.
Oak Ornaments will be open every Friday and Saturday from 11am-4pm until July 28.
