BUDDING scientists tested their health and fitness at a 'FitLab' session at Greenock Central Library.
The visit by Glasgow Science Centre was part of a summer programme for children over the school holidays, supported by the National Lottery Fund.
Aileen Bradley, from the science centre, said: "Our FitLab exhibition looks at different parts of the body.
"We take this exhibition to schools and venues all over Scotland."
Aileen says sessions like this help make science more accessible to families on their doorstep as it is not always possible for people to visit the Science Centre.
Laura Meechan, central library supervisor, said: "We ran this programme before and it was so popular we got funding through the National Lottery Fund and we decided to run it again.
"It will run in all libraries in Inverclyde one day a week through the summer holidays.
"People can come along to the drop-in and it runs for four hours.
Other workshops include exploring the natural world, mini zoo experiences in libraries and days to encourage children to read and engage with books over the holidays.
Laura added: "We have also launched our reading challenge 'Ready, Set, Read'.
"We have so much on during the summer holidays including Bookbug sessions, crafternoons, Animal Man and a visit by the author Lindsay Littleson, who has a new book out."
