The cup was started in 1972 by club member Gerry McGoogan, who helped run the competition until he passed away 26 years ago.
The competition is now sponsored by Gerry’s family, and his daughters Louise Newman and Philomena Donnachie were on hand at the recent event to present the winners with there prizes.
Philomena told the Tele it had been a fantastic day.
She said: “It was fabulous.
“We had the usual competition, in past years we usually get about 12 teams taking part but this year there were 24.
“Everyone had a good time, and it sounds like St Andrew’s made a good amount from it.
“It was a big success and we were so pleased that things went well.”
The fundraising competition netted £500 for the good cause, which St Andrew’s First Aid bosses say will be used to help cover the costs of equipment storage.
Anna Kane, commandant of the local St Andrew’s division, said the money would be a big help to the organisation.
She said: “We were absolutely delighted with how things went, we made way more than we expected.
“The club are so generous every year and we got a great day for it.
“We’re currently trying to get a purpose-built storage unit to keep our equipment in and this money will help go towards that.
“We’ve already done our own fundraisers, and this will help top things up.
“We had teams from all over Scotland coming along to take part in the competition and there was also a raffle which we ran with prizes from members as well as some things we put in.
“We got a wonderful donation from Gerry’s family and some money from the bowling club, which was a big help too.
“We can’t wait until next year, we’re so glad Gerry’s family wanted to support this and we’re grateful to the club too.
“The sun was splitting the sky and the turnout was fantastic.”
