A MAN has been charged in connection with the death of a 37-year-old male after police launched a murder investigation in Greenock.
The 46-year-old was arrested last night following an incident in the Angus Road area of Larkfield on Sunday evening.
He is now due to appear at Greenock Sheriff Court today.
Police were alerted to a disturbance involving three men at around 9.50pm on Sunday.
All three were taken to hospital, with the 37-year-old being pronounced dead a short time later.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “A post-mortem examination will be carried out.
"However, the death is being treated as murder, and his next of kin have been made aware.
“Extensive enquiries remain ongoing into the incident and anyone with information is urged to contact police on 101, quoting incident number 3916 of 30 July, 2023.
“Alternatively, Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
