POLICE have arrested and charged a man in connection with an alleged break-in at a popular Greenock pub.
Officers detained a 53-year-old at One Bruce Street after receiving a report of a break-in at the premises at around 11.15pm on Sunday.
A report has been submitted to the procurator fiscal.
The pub's owner, Gary McDowell, told the Tele he was 'gutted' about the incident.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We received a report of a break-in to a premises on Bruce Street, Greenock, around 11.15pm on Sunday 6 August.
“Officers attended and a 53-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection."
