A BRAINY Notre Dame pupil is set to go to university aged just 16 after achieving a clean sweep of A grades in her exams.

After weeks of anxiously awaiting her results, Narissa Munro was delighted when she found out this morning that she had attained straight As in maths, English, human biology, chemistry and Spanish.

Narissa is now able to accept an offer to study Biomedical Science at Glasgow Caledonian University and is set to start her new course next month.

The fifth-year pupil, who is the second oldest of three sisters, told the Tele she had a few sleepless nights in the weeks before results day.

She said: “I’m really excited about my results because it means I can go to university now.

“I’ve been really nervous, I’ve had a good couple of nightmares about it over the last couple of weeks so it’s brilliant to be done.

“I’m just really excited to start uni.

“I’m surprised I actually did as well as I did.

“Hopefully once I’m finished university, I’ll be able to work in labs in hospitals dealing with samples.

“I wasn’t completely sure what I wanted to do but I’ve always been interested in science.

“I stumbled upon it and realised it was something I was really interested in so that’s how I decided it was what I wanted to do.

“It’s a little bit daunting just because I’ll be at least a year younger than other students but I’m really excited."

Mum Margaret said she was thrilled to see her daughter’s hard work pay off.

She said: “I’m ecstatic, I’m so emotional but I just knew she’d done well.

“She works so hard so I’m just over the moon for her.

“If anybody deserves it it’s her, I’m so proud.

“Narissa’s always done so well, she’s clever but she studies and works really hard.

“She’s just absolutely amazing.

“With Covid and everything it’s not been easy for a lot of things but she’s worked hard and she’s been rewarded for it.”
