POLICE have made a further arrest after an alleged murder in the Larkfield area of Greenock.
Lee Elliot, 37, died following an incident in Angus Road on July 30 and 46-year-old Gerard Turner was later charged with murdering him with a sword or similar bladed weapon.
Turner, who has been fully committed for trial and remanded in custody after a hearing at Greenock Sheriff Court, is also accused of the attempted murder of another man by repeatedly striking him with a sword or similar instrument.

Police Scotland has now confirmed that a second male has been arrested and charged after the alleged disturbance.
A spokesperson for the force said: “A 38-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with a serious assault that happened around 9.50pm on Sunday, July 30, 2023, in the Angus Road area of Greenock.
“A 46-year-old man sustained injuries and was taken to hospital and later released."
The 38-year-old man now faces prosecution.
