The youngsters, who all looked very smart in their green uniforms, gathered outside in the playground with their families as they prepared to walk through the doors.
Head teacher Mark Deegan came out to welcome all of the boys and girls and encouraged them all to give their loved ones a hug before heading into the school.
Mr Deegan said it's a huge day for the youngsters and praised them, and their families, for doing so well.
Speaking as the boys and girls gathered for a group photo, Mr Deegan said: "We are delighted to welcome all of our primary one pupils today.

"They will be learning so many new things and meeting so many new friends.
"We're all really looking forward to seeing them grow and learn."
Mr Deegan said pupils from Nigeria and Sri Lanka will join the class this year.
Across Inverclyde as a whole, almost 700 primary one pupils started school on Friday.
Mr Deegan says having a great relationship with nearby nurseries Glenpark and Hillend is vital for the P1 team.
He added: "We have a really good transition programme in place.
"Some of the nursery staff kindly popped along to help the youngsters get settled in.
"We have a great relationship with staff at the nurseries and that really helps the youngsters and the families."
The boys and girls were thrilled to see their teachers Audrey Grant and Carol Donnelly, and quickly started on a whole range of exciting activities.
Mr Deegan says he's happy to be getting started on the 2023/24 term.
He added: "We're really excited to welcome everyone back."
