WATERFRONT Leisure Centre's training pool is set to shut next month while its new moveable floor is installed.
A report to the council's education and communities committee has revealed that Inverclyde Leisure are planning to close and empty the pool in early September.
The work to install the new floor will then begin, with Waterfront bosses aiming to have the pool re-filled by early November.
The report states that Inverclyde Leisure have put an 'operational plan' in place to minimise impact on customers, which includes extending opening hours at Port Glasgow Pool.
Gourock Pool will also continue to operate throughout the month of October.
Council officers say a small increase in utility costs associated with the extension of Gourock Pool's season is anticipated but will be partially offset by a reduction associated with the closure of the training pool in Greenock while the work is carried out.
