KEEN swimmers have been making the best of an early autumn heat wave at Gourock Pool.
Dozens of people packed into the popular outdoor swimming spot as they basked in the unexpected spell of warm weather.
The fun came hot on the heels of pool bosses announcing an extension to the facility’s opening times which will see it stay open well into October.
Pool manager Marc McFarlane told the Telegraph the good weather could not have come at a better time.
He said: “It is fantastic to see the good weather return just as we have extended the pool opening.
“This gives people more opportunity to enjoy our amazing pool.
“Over past few days we have had a lot more customers visit from out with Inverclyde.
“Many of whom it is their first time, and they have been extremely complimentary of the facilities and staff.
“Our fingers are crossed the weather continues throughout September.”
