A PETITION calling on the Scottish Government to nationalise the parent company of Inchgreen Dry Dock will be considered by a Holyrood committee this month.
Campaigners want the Greenock marine facility brought into public ownership and control removed from Clydeport, part of the Peel Ports group, after years of inactivity at the site.
A petition, launched in June by Robert Buirds on behalf of the Campaign to Save Inchgreen Dry Dock, has attracted more than 1,200 signatures and ministers will consider the points raised at a meeting on September 20.
The Scottish Government previously said that it 'has no plans to explore compulsorily purchasing, revoking the powers of, or nationalising Clydeport'.
The petition can be signed online at petitions.parliament.scot/petitions/PE2029.
