POLICE have arrested and charged a woman in connection with a serious incident in Port Glasgow which saw a car smeared with blood.
The 29-year-old suspect has been released on an undertaking and will appear in court at a later date in relation to the disturbance at Clune Brae at the weekend
It is understood that a 45-year-old woman had to be conveyed to hospital following the incident, which police described as a disturbance involving a number of people.
Officers were made aware of the matter at 12:50am on Saturday.
Multiple evidence bags were spotted at the scene and shattered glass could be seen on the road beside the car as police investigated the incident.
Police say the arrested 29-year-old will now be the subject of a report to the Procurator Fiscal.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "A 29-year-old woman has been arrested and charged in connection with a disturbance that took place on Clune Brae, Port Glasgow on Saturday, 9 September.
"She was released on an undertaking to appear at Greenock Sheriff Court at a later date.
“A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."
