FORT Matilda Bridge Club have been forced to move out of their home for the last 40 years - as they count the cost of rising gas and electricity bills.
It is the end of an era for the group as club president Alison Reynolds and her vice president Jane Chapman, spoke of their sadness at leaving Tarbet Street in Gourock behind.
From December onwards the bridge club will meet in Gamble Halls as they look to continue a club that was first founded 65 years ago.
But before they move on they hope to encourage more people to come with them and learn how to play the game, which is now recognised by the International Olympic Committee.
Alison said: "It is really sad to move on. We simply cannot afford to renew our lease with the rise in gas and electricity.
"We have also have a dwindling membership.
"We have a lot of members who haven't come back since the pandemic. We have folk who are still members but they don't come to our face to face competitions any more.
"Our landlord is sad that we are leaving but recognises that we can no longer afford to stay at the club in Tarbet Street. He wishes us well."

The committee are determined to rebuild before moving on by organising bridge lessons for beginners and improvers starting this month.
Alison, who has been a member for 30 years, said: "It is so good for your brain and the company is so important.
"We are very pleased it is recognised by the Olympics and like other games it helps with agility.
"Bridge is played by millions of people throughout the world, more than any other card game. We want people to learn how to play and get the full benefit of it."
From November onwards the bridge club face to face sessions will move to the Gamble Halls.
Jane added: "They have made us feel so welcome at the Gamble Halls as well."
The club has also planned its annual charity bridge and afternoon tea event in aid of the RNLI on Thursday September 21.
